Are you looking for some good books on cryptocurrency? There are plenty of them out there, but these are our top picks.

There are lots of books on cryptocurrency, but they often cover similar topics or focus on specific aspects of the space. These are the ones we recommend reading if you want to get a broad overview of the topic.

We've picked out ten great reads on cryptocurrency from around the web. They range from beginner guides to advanced technical analysis, the history of cryptocurrencies and everything else to do with crypto.

What is Cryptocurrency

Cryptocurrency is digital money (or digital currency) that uses cryptography to secure transactions instead of relying on central authorities like banks. It's completely decentralized, meaning it doesn't have any single point of failure.

The first cryptocurrency was Bitcoin, which launched in 2009 as open-source software. Since then, many other currencies have been created, including Litecoin, Ethereum, Ripple, Dash and Monero.

These digital currencies have become increasingly popular over the past 10 years due to their independence from traditional financial institutions. This means users can make purchases without having to go through a bank or credit card company.

Cryptocurrency is increasingly seeming like regulation will be needed to keep things safe and stable. In fact, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has already warned investors about ICOs, saying: "ICOs may offer returns based on an expectation of future profits, rather than earnings generated by underlying business activities."

What is the Blockchain

A blockchain is essentially a public ledger that records every transaction ever made using a particular currency. This means that when you make a purchase using bitcoin, your payment gets recorded on the blockchain, along with all previous payments going back to its genesis block (the first ever payment made on the network).

This makes it easy to trace the path of any given coin because you can simply look up the blockchain to see where it came from.

Blockchains also allow people to create their own tokens, known as "coins," without having to rely on an intermediary such as a bank or government. The most well-known example of this is Ether, the token used by the Ethereum platform.

FAQ

How do I choose the right cryptocurrency book for me?

It depends on what you wish to learn more about and whether you are a beginner or a more advanced investor. Consider your goal: if you want to learn more about the history of Bitcoin, blockchain technology, Ethereum, or other digital assets, or whether you are interested in investing – then take your pick.

Are older crypto books still worth reading today?

Usually, with other trading and investing books, it doesn't matter as much if a book is a bit older, as even though the market may have changed a lot, the general principles have stayed the same. The same applies to crypto books; however, the crypto industry is rapidly growing and evolving, so newer books are recommended. However, older crypto books can still be relevant if they are about the history and fundamentals.
