How can I get my blog noticed in 2022? What should I focus on?
In 2019, blogging has become an essential part of marketing strategy for businesses. According to Hubspot, blogs generate over $1.4 million in revenue per month. If you want to start earning from your blog, then you need to promote it effectively.
There are several ways to promote your blog for free. Some of them include social media platforms, email marketing, influencer marketing, and paid advertising. These methods are effective because they don’t require much time or effort.
Why Promote Your Post?
I think if your on this page already then you know exactly why you want to promote your blog content. Promoting a piece of content or all content on a blog can provide a gateway into more opportunities for you and your blog.
If you get more blog traffic and more people to engage with your piece of content then fundamentally you can reach your target audience to read what your writing about. After all, if you are writing a blog then I would imagine you want people to view your awesome content.
For those of you that maybe have already tried marketing your blog content then you will understand it can be very difficult to gain consistent growing organic traffic. Hopefully using the methods below along with your awesome content you will be able to further expand your audience as intended and have each blog post viewed by many people.
Even with the option of SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) which can be very powerful if done correctly, still takes time to even begin seeing results. With the options I have mentioned within this list, you should be able to see some small results immediately as long as time and attention is put into working on these methods. I would still urge search engine optimisation to be used on all blog posts as this can be a major driver of traffic for the long-term success of your blog.
1. Share Blog Posts on Medium.
Medium is one of the most popular blogging platforms. It allows bloggers to publish their content online without having to worry about formatting issues. You can also earn money by writing articles on Medium. In fact, you may be reading this blog post on Medium as this is a technique I use.
Although my main blog is over at www.portfolio-hub.co.uk, I repost each blog post on Medium as it gets my blog out to more people then if I kept my content on my site. Medium is great as you can get started writing and posting blogs within minutes. As well as that, you can make money through Medium's partner program and other affiliate programs too.
I spend quite a lot of time working on my blog and each piece of content so being able to share it on a platform made for bloggers withy access to much more blog traffic then my website currently gets is a really useful tool for helping get the blog noticed.
2. Join an Online Community.
An online community is like a group of friends who share interests with each other. They usually meet up in person but can also communicate via video calls and chat rooms.
You can join communities related to your niche and ask questions there. This will help you build relationships with fellow bloggers and gain valuable advice. You can also learn new things from these communities.
Interacting with these communities shows that you're active and interested in what others have to say. This helps you stand apart from the crowd and gets your blog seen by more people.
The best way to find out what works for you is by trial and error. Try different approaches and see which ones work best for you. If you want to start blogging, it might be worth trying a few different platforms before settling on one.
3. Create a YouTube Channel.
YouTube is another platform where you can create videos and monetize them. The reason why I suggest YouTube is because it is such a huge platform and you can easily reach millions of potential customers.
If you've got any kind of hobby or passion, chances are you'll find some sort of audience on YouTube. It may even get to a point where your YouTube channel becomes a larger success than the blog itself. YouTube has great potential for both a source of traffic generation and potential revenue streams.
Of course, if you want your channel to link closely to your blog or vice versa, then be sure to pick a topic where both text and video content are suitable and well received. It is also important to remember that any of the social media sites may end up being a good channel to begin posting your content onto and sharing your posts.
4. Write Guest Posts for Other Websites.
Another way to promote your blog for less than nothing is to write guest posts for other websites. There are plenty of sites that pay writers to do this. You may have to reach out to the website owner first to see if they would be willing to accept your guest blog post.
It may take a while to build up enough reputation to get accepted into these networks. However, once you do, you could potentially make a lot of new friends and connections from doing this. Resulting of course in a source of traffic for your blog.
5. Start a Podcast.
A podcast is a series of audio recordings made available to listeners via the internet. Podcasts are often used as a form of entertainment. But they can also be used to educate people about certain subjects. Similarly to YouTube, if your content can be spoken about as well and has interesting enough topics, then a podcast may suit your mission.
Podcasts can help grow traffic in a similar way to YouTube as they allow you to connect with your readers. People love listening to podcasts so it's easy to imagine how many people would listen to yours. Podcasts can also be posted on many different platforms allowing you to gain an even larger source of traffic.
6. Join a Publication
There are many publications that allow bloggers to submit their content. These include magazines, newspapers, newsletters and magazines. These publications usually offer free access to readers. So when you sign up, you can read all the content published on the publication.
The Medium platform includes a publications feature directly on their site. This allows you to create and contribute to publications on the same platform you may already be writing on. Also, due to many other writers already being present on Medium, they may be more likely to join or invite you to a publication that is also on Medium.
Summary
So there you go! Those are my top six ways to promote your blog for free in 2022. Hopefully, one of these will work for you too. If not, at least you know what to try next time.
